Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
But thinking back I may have experienced what you are talking about... Thank you for sharing this... Gave me something else to think about... Wow, how our lives have changed since surgery...
I always felt much smaller than I really was, for example I would think I could shimmy through a small opening between a chair and the wall, when infact I was way to big to get through with out something moving. So, I would avoid all situations that might be embarrising after my mind would size up the situation (to try it or not).
Just lately, I have noticed that my mind will tell me, "nope not a big enough area for you", when infact I can squeeze through quite easily. Does that make sense?
It's really kind of weird, looking in the mirror this morning and not recognizing myself turned sideways. Is that me? Looking pretty thin? I have to touch my hip just to acknowledge to myself it really is me....very weird things happening in my mind lately.
So yes, I can totally relate to what you are saying =)
