I am a newbie here also. My family doctor just referred me to Ottawa on Friday. I am waiting for my first appointment. How long have you been on the waiting list? Is there a lot of appointments to go to during the process?
I love how you have a long term goal. On the rough days if you remember your goal it will help you through! I have set a goal of going to amusement parks with my husband and son. I intend on having as much fun if not more than my son!!!
I wish you the best of luck! Keep us posted on your progress towards your goal!
I think working to be healthy is a very good goal. As MY surgeon said, "It's not our goal to make you thin, but it is our goal to help you get healthy." I'm 15 months out and still working on that...like I will the rest of my life.
Eager to hear about your journey along the way.

I took the class & got my motorcycle license in 2005, & my surgery this past June 28, I am so happy that I did both.
My only issue now is that I have this awesome motorcycle in the garage & I can't ride it right now LOL but that is ok I will sacrifice. LOL
You will love being able to jump on and go. It is an awesome feeling.

One thing you might want to do is follow a food list guide. Had to do it during the "pre" surgery 6 month program. This helps shrink your liver to a size the dr can work around when they do the OBP.
Keep us posted. Email me and I'll attach the list to follow. Believe it or not it did work.
