Found this at Walmart today. Got the watermelon flavor and had it over ice. Not bad, better than most, No carbs and no sugar

what is the name brand?

If I am not mistaken it is calle New Whey. Its decent. I buy them sometimes when I know I am not going to hit my quota for protein. They go well when mixed in a bottle of water too.

That is good to know, thanks for the info

I dumped on this. If you are sensitive to sucralose, be careful.

Thanks for the infor Karen. Didn't have any problem with it last night. Thought they woyld be great for traveling or an occassional pick me up I wouldn't want to drink them every meal because they are so syrup but I bet they would be good mixed in with the water like Pamela suggested. I am going on a cruise in April so I thought something like this would be good to take along.

I will have to check it out when I go to Walmart later. I have sucralose in my de caf coffee and in some of the sugar free stuff and haven't dumped so I might try it. THanks for the info

I tried those and just couldn't get it down... maybe I should have tried mixing it with water... My one thought is: I have heard that our bodies can only absorb like 20grams of protien at a time so maybe split the drink in half? has anyone else heard the 20gram thing?

I have read that you canonly absorb about 10 grams per hour, so if you drink 50 and its go's through your system in 30 minutes (normal people 1 1/2 hours) then your getting 5 grams absorbed or if it takes 1 1/2hours to go through then 15 grams are absorbed....this may be wrong, but thats what I read. We dont absorb everything we take in so who is to say, but Im convinced we do not absorb a lot from drinks, but I still take them with the hopes that some sticks....

Watch out for products that contain a type of protein called collagen proteins. Even a whey collagen protein. Our bodies cannot process collagen proteins, so you'll still be protein deficient even if you do have adequate grams. Check your labels. Isolates are good, collagens are bad for us.
