I did not fully understand what my body would feel like after the surgery. Maybe its just me, but I felt the same other than a bit of pain. I see the places where they went into my body, but I have not seen my stomach. It's in my tummy I know but I do not see it. Having the IV in the hospital, I did not have to worry about getting enough fluids. Once I got home I felt tired, and went to sleep at 6 pm. Now its 1 am, and I woke up. I guess that I was not sleeping enough in the hospital. Not feeling hungry, but I know I am to have fluid and protein. I do have my shake that I am sipping. Now I realize what it means that the Gastric Bypass does not change your live. It is a tool that you use as you change your life. It really take being out of the hospital for me to come to grips with this, and a new understanding of what I am in for. Walking is going to be a big part of that for sure! The surgery is just a part of the changes that I am going through.

I had no idea before surgery what it meant that this was tool. I also finally figured it out. Every bit of food that goes into my body is put there by my hand. Before surgery. After surgery. That hasn't changed at all. The surgery can help me, but it's still up to me to make this work.
