The incisions will hurt a lot less when your buying new skinny clothes....lol
Just imagine, what will you buy first...

Hang in there. It is tough to get back into the swing of things. Just take things step by step and try not to do too much. I know it is hard to go through, but the rewards are priceless.

Remember to get up for lots of short breaks/walks...I am lucky to work at a place where I can do that. I think just sitting would have made my incisions hurt more than standing and walking around.

Hang in there as the days pass it will become easier and in the long run you will be happy with the outcome. Like Andy said just think about all the nice things you can buy in a smaller size. :)

Yep, I had to go back to work far sooner than I wanted to (all my time off was unpaid). So 2 weeks off was all I could afford.

My first day back back was terrible - I was so tired - I just wanted to go home and sleep. It got a little better each day. 4-weeks post-op, I was feeling much better.

Fortunately, all my co-workers were sympathetic to my plight and that helped emmensely. By that time, I had also found this group and that also helped....

Oh yeah, one thing that will help - get up frequently and take breaks - every 30 minutes or so. Just walk for few minutes before sitting back down. Also, do some simple, easy stretches while you are at your desk - nothing strenuous of dramatic - just keep the body parts in motion. And drink lots of water - this will give you a good reason to get up every 30 minutes.

I am thankful I was able to take 6 weeks off work. I think the important think is to keep moving around. I know sitting at a desk for 8 hours that soon would have had me feeling pain as well. You can do this!! Like everyone says think about the future, and that will surely make you smile!!

you are tough! It sucks to have to work, but I promise when I win the lottery I'll remember you! Then you can quit!

Thank you all for the encouragement. I made it through the day. By 2 I was so sleepy though. I'm ready for bed already.

Talk to your boss and see if he/she will let you work part time for a couple of weeks or split shift or long lunch and allow yourself a time to rest

Hang in there hun, it is a huge transition going back to work! My job was being on my feet for 10 hour stretches and one 15 minute break! It was really rough and I was eating and drinking on the go. Didn't think I was gonna make it the first week back! It all depends on your type of job and whether you have a good boss I think. Hopefully he/she will work with you to help you ease back into the swing of things. Try to take it easy as much as possible....good luck...you can do it!

Thank you for your post, I also work in a call center, and know how they want you on the phones at all times. My surgery is in 2 weeks and I will be interested in following you in your progress at work. I am hoping to return to work in 2 weeks after surgery.
