I am not hungry but am picking and snacking all day because I am stressed out on my job. This is something I usually don't do but have been for the last two weeks. Luckily I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost any either. Can someone please advise me on what to do. I am not eating alot of course because I can't, but still in all this is one of those bad habits that I thought died with the WLS*sad face*

I would drink water instead of munching. Take a walk find something to occupy yourself. Those temptations are tough......haven't gained weight is awesome.....This is a bump in the road....Blessings

I HAVE DISCOVERED...AND MOST PEOPLE IN THE KNOW WILL AGREE THAT...oops didnt mean to shout..that when we THINK we are hungry we are actually thirsty...i still find myself heading to the snack machine...then i stop and get a big old something or other to drink...and VIOLA..im not hungry anymore...yeah it will come and go..still does for me even after 5 years...so its ll good and you will be juuuuuust fine :-)

Yup. Drink water. Practice deep breathing. Do something physical like push ups or whatever you can do. Sometimes, I resort to chewing gum (shhhh, don't tell my doctor.)

As they say, they only operate on our stomachs not on our heads. We have to do the work to learn to deal with our emotions in healthier ways than feeding them.

I agree with the mistaking thirst and hunger. I also have a human chew-toy that helps when I am super stressed out...it's a teething toy! Nice and chewy and I only need it for a few minutes. Luckily for me, I work from home when I am not on the road so no one looks at me funny. But I would use it anyway if I still had my old job in a fishbowl! I just got it in the baby section of my local grocery store.

Would drinking something like Sytrax nectar help? Some are fruity and might satisfy the need for sweetness. Take a few seconds to "center yourself" and find a few words, short prayer etc. that you can use as a deterrent to eating. Be mindful of the emotions you are trying to fix when you feel like snacking....Just some thoughts. Kathy
