Hi there
I'm curious if anyone has been diagnosed with this and did it interfere with surgery. I currently taking an antibiotic and am very concerned that my surgery for 8/17 will have to be post phoned. I have a call into the Dr. now. My skin doctor said it won't get in the way of my surgery ugh! Oh I have been waiting sooooooo long (since last Oct).

Necrobiosis lipoidica is a necrotizing skin condition that usually occurs in patients with diabetes but can also be associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis. In such cases it may be called necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum (NLD). NLD occurs in approximately 3% of the diabetic population, with the majority of sufferers being women (approximately 90%).
Necrobiosis lipoidica is closely related to granuloma annulare.

It's funny since I am not a diabetic at all. Maybe it's a sign. I dunno. I guess I'm curious as to the antibiotics and whether it would prevent me from having the surgery this coming Tues.
