My turn... ramblings in Goldens absence tonight :)

Ponderings of an 11 day post op er.... It is just past 10pm here in Oregon, and I must warn you the last time I was 'under the inflence of medications I tried to send a private msg to JJ and it came out kinda scary!! LOL!! '
Tonight I have taken a sleeping pill... and they have been hitting me quick since now I crush them up in a bit of applesauce, so any minute I'm gonna be rummy! I can feel it a bit already! LOL cause I cannot find half the keys i want to find!
Its been an uneventful weekend... good, but quiet. We are poor(er) than normal right now as we loaned (loaned! Ha ha! Ok.... gave) my eldest son a BUNCH of money to fix his car so he could get back and forth to work...
We were going to use some of this money to go spend 3 nights at a nice hotel (Red Lion) in coos bay so we could get away and so I could spend an evening with Joy.... but now, well heck, we can't cause of helping the kids... They are both hard workers, so I don't mind helping.... besides they raise my 4 grandkids! So it's all good.... its just going to take us a bit to recover from the expense.... But we will!
Next subject :)
i am doing well.... The last couple days I've had a grumpy pouch a bit, but nothing too bad... it just let me know its awake now and there is an approval process for foods and protein drinks now :) :)
I am getting ready to start on stage 3 solids come Tuesday at my first preop.... am excited to try new things, but a bit unsure how the transition will go. As others said, I will only add one new food at a time/day to see if it agrees or not... This makes sense... And I think I am starting with fish, either tilapia or tuna... 2 to 3 oz.
And on I go....
I had my first weird, totally unexplainable emotional moment today... I got silly, cried, laughed and cried again all in the span of like 3 minutes! LOL! My hubby thought I was nuts! He asked me if I was ok....
You know, the "Honey.....? Are you ok....? Are you surrre your oooook....?"
(Like if they say it slow and dragged out, i'll be more able to grasp his question)
Then after I assure him thru the giggles and tears that I am ok, he wants to know "......then.......ummmmm......whats ummmm,,,,,,,
wrong?"
I tell him... with a straight face finally.... "Its my fat cells releasing hormones honey...."
And then we both laughed hysterically for a couple minutes then promptly changed the subject :)
And the rambling gos on...
I have my first weigh in in two days (Tuesday at 11:30 am).... I get a recorded call today from the center reminding me of my post op appointment.... this makes me laugh, like I could forget if I even wanted to! Forget my first visit to the scale since surgery? if ONLY I could forget that day is coming!! If ONLY!!
The longer I am off the scale while knowing I am working the plan and am doing all I can.... the more getting on the scale almost seems like torture! Yeah, It could be good.... could be bad..... whatever it is will make or break my day! I worry I won't have lost any, which I know I will lose something.... but will it be enough? And what is enough anyways? Can I live my talk and never say ONLY in the same sentence as LOST...? If I lost 4 lbs, I should be thrilled because even when I worked hard at it, seldom could I lose 2 lbs a week 2 weeks in a row.... so 4 lbs is better than what I was doing before surgery....
But I am also human, and I want to see a # gone that is so big it makes me cry tears of joy and disbelief! Yet even as nice as that feeling is, it reaffirms I am too hung up on the #'s if it can make or break my day! You see.... the head part is ALWAYS the hard part!!
So I guess I go weigh and let whatever the number is, do what I apparently let it do to me.... The only reason it as power is because I gave it power..... and one day soon, I am going to figure out how to get my power back!
Ok.... that was 3 or 4 ramblings wrapped up in one! Sorry.... Sleep pill has kicked in and typing is NOW lots of WORK :) Nite nite :)

Adding one food at a time to see what settles is perfect. Gotta love those emotions that just surface out of nowhere. Knowing they will be surfacing for release makes it so much easier to just allow them to surface than fighting or dwelling on them. I loved how you handled it!
Only lost. Isn't that an interesting thought which comes from the need to compare or judge. It is a good thing you have waited to weigh because of the natural post surgical gain. You will be pleasantly surprised at the results when you go!
The head part is so totally the hardest! Consider exploring the words lose and lost. Are you really going to lose anything you no longer need? Or are you going to gain a thousands NSV's? If I may suggest, words have great power and part of the head thing is changing the way we think about things. What if you used the word shed instead of lost? I found that changing the words I used, changed the whole way I looked at this part of my life's journey. Shed the fat suit? Lose it? Just something to ponder in your drugged states!!!
Congrats and happy healing!
The numbers are pretty important to me. That's why I did this to lose them!
They will tumble. I have been on a plateau for a month or more and just this week and a couple a numbers drop. That's hard ona scale slave!
Been a busy weekend and haven't kept up on this site. Hope you are feeling good.
