Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I agree with starting to sip water all day, get your vitamins in now (they will help you heal better too), and eat your proteins first. You'll be learning new ways to live afterward, and the better practiced you are heading into it, the easier it will go.
Good luck and let us know how things go with the surgery.
It is normal to have the jitters before surgery. Just keep your eyes on your goal. The pre op was the hardest part for me.
I don't know much about the sleeve. But if you stick to your plan all Will be well. Just keep thinking about how great it's going to be when the numbers start tumbling down!
The improvement in health besides the weight loss are wonderful too! You will feel better and get around better. I WAS a type 2 diabetic. I was taking 5 to 7 shots of insulin per day as well as metformin. After surgery the diabetes is GONE! No insulin no nothing!
Hope some of this encourages you a little. This type of surgery is a life saver!
Congratulations on your decision to get healthy! Keep us posted on your progress.
