Thank you all for your well wishes, thoughts, and prayers for me on Monday. I really appreciate that! The surgery went well, my biggest complaint was that I developed subcutaneous emphysema from the air that they pump into you during surgery. It moved up from my abdominal area to my collar bone, neck, and face. I thought the night nurse was going to pass out when she saw me, she was really scared until I explained to her that it wasn't swelling, it was just air! The majority of it has gone away and my voice has returned to normal (all that air swelling up my neck made me sound like a chipmunk!). I still have a few pockets of it here and there, but I am sure it will pass very soon.

I had a rough day on Friday, started feeling miserable and running a temp. It was dehydration setting in and not enough protein - so I did what the nurse said and I have felt a lot better since. I even went to church today! So for the newbies....as much as you might not like Isopure....drink it! I found that mixing it with Crystal Light helps A LOT and makes it tolerable.

Yesterday I went to my first "gathering" with food and it was hard. Not so much because I was hungry, but because I just longed just to taste something other than protein water, Crystal Light, jello, and popsicles! I made it through, though. Last night my husband popped popcorn for him and his son and that was REALLY hard since I LOVE popcorn and the smell just permeated the house!

So all in all, it's been a good first week. I am ready to get to the full liquids stage tomorrow so I can make my protein shakes with milk the way I like them (I just think it's gross with water). And oh to taste some yogurt....that is going to be such a blessing to me! LOL

Best part....in the 2 weeks before surgery, I managed to drop 11 pounds! Since surgery, I have dropped another 6 pounds! So I am down a total of 17 pounds in 3 weeks! Not bad...
