Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
When I lost the 60 pounds on Weight Watchers a couple years ago, I told myself I would NEVER gain the weight back but last year I did gain back 30 pounds I lost. It is just tough. I think the WLS is a useful tool to loose weight and keep it off but there are other issues you have to work out in order to be successful with weight loss and keeping it off. Eating when bored, stressed those kinda things. Talking to someone about these issues could help if you haven't already. My bariatric program has a psych social person you have to see more than once in order to through their process to get a surgery date. I think it helps to pin point why a person over eats. Good luck!
I didn't have to do a pre-op diet, so I can't help you there. I just wanted to encourage you and let you know having GBS is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
