the last few days not only have I been hurting like all heck (this weather changing back and forth does not help) but now my system has decided that it will not tolerate solid foods. I haven't even had surgery yet and the last few days any time I eat anything in the solids division I throw it up. Thankfully it is not doing that with liquids and I am able to get down protein shakes and water etc. On the plus side of that hopefully I will go down a few more pounds this week. I'm not to worried about it as long as I can get down the liquids and protein shakes so my system isn't starving and I'm not getting dehydrated.

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. Sounds like you are having some symptoms that you get after surgery. On the positive side, at least you will kind of have a feeling of what to expect the first few weeks post op. Weather can play havoc on my system as well. Hang in there. You are smart to make sure you are hydrated. Take care. Best with all.

I would mention this to your nut or Dr just to make sure something else isn't going on. Good luck to you.

I struggled to not eat food pre-op for those two weeks. I hated being on liquids. I agree please call your doctor and see if there is something he needs to explore before surgery.

going in to see my pcp tomorrow morning after I posted this I went from tolerating liquids to tolerating nothing at all even plain water. We have a flu going around here and I am afraid I have caught it. Want to get better quick as surgery is still tentatively scheduled for October 17

Hopefully you do not have the flu, nobody wants that! Yes, just check with your Doctor, you don't want to go in this already ill. Rest well and get better. Your on the losing bench very soon...:)

was actually able to get in to see a doctor this evening. I do have the flu and was given some anti nausea medicine and told to push liquids. Need to follow up tomorrow with the doctor as well to make sure things are getting better. They gave me a shot this evening and suppositories for the rest of the time

I'm glad that you went to the dr. I'm sorry that you are feeling so lousy. At least you are having the flu now and have time to get over it before surgery I hope. I will say a prayer for you to feel better quickly. debby

Thank you all for your warm wishes. Went to the doctor again today and I am doing better. The anti-nausea meds are working and today I have kept fluids in and been able to eat some soup. My mom stopped by and was upset because she said I looked pale and I promised her to rest as much as I could.
