Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. In case any of you ate more for the holiday than you planned... I thought I'd share my "rules" I worked out way back when I did weight watchers that have carried me thru post op as well... I know some of you have seen them before...
have 3 of them...
1. When (not if, we are bound to mess up!), so WHEN I mess up, I must forgive myself... if i don't, a bad choice, or meal, or day, can turn into a bad week, month or even year! (I know this to be true!). So I forgive myself...
2. Learn something from the event.... If I can learn something, well... then next time I will have a better handle on things... maybe can avoid the slip all together, and if I learn something, it does not seem such a waste!
3. CLIMB BACK ON THE WAGON! I look real silly down there on the ground under the wagon with wrappers and crumbs all around me... so brush off the crumbs and climb back on!
Just one of my ways of coping... Because this is about progress, not perfection!
