I think, from my limited experience with a kayake.... I'd venture to guess it is good for the abs too! :)

I will get out for a walk this evening... my plan is to clean up stuff in storage in my back yard. However, I am a bit intimidated by the bugs! LOL! :) :)

I started a new habit this morning that I hope to repeat a couple of times a week. I parked my car at my son's high school and walked the track for 30 minutes. He started early so I have time now before work and it frees up my evening!

Kayaking sounds like fun. I bet you have to use some core muscles for balance as well. It's gonna be a short walk for me today, I am working instead on getting in my fluids and protein today after a long day in the ED. Plus it's gonna be close to 100 degrees here today. I will try to make it to the gym tomorrow.

Didn't get my four miles in, but did three shorter walks, one with my hubby walking out to the Lighthouse. It was beautiful!!

I didn't get my .5 hour in on the treadmill, but I was on my feet and knees for about 2.5 hours working on fixing my fridge and stove. And I spent another hour cleaning the bathroom.
Tomorrow the treadmill!

Got up for a 8am Dr. apt...........canceled..........so I ran mom again this time to cider mill (has a beautiful water fall behind it) She also had some stuff to donate to this store the agape sp? shop ......its got a thrift part above they also help fire victims and such. They have this cool store on the main floor it has hand crafts local and over seas. the overseas stuff goes back to them. ok day with an 82 yr old gets me chatty with people who can hear er see my words. lol I found a book there called Read it before you eat it....ill let you know if it is helpful. Lin and I thought we were good on labels till we get in front of them lol

The big excitement was I walked 3 miles yesterday. woo hoo wont be long till I can get back to 4 and back to 3x a week. I never had this hard of a time getting energy back from surgery. maybe from being run down from so long oh well some one push me it stoped raining the trail is faintly calling :)

Ok, I'm gonna join the band wagon. But, I can hardly walk due to severe pain in my thigh, and I have a double ear infection. But, I did walk back and forth from bedroom to kitchen 5 times this morning, walked out to the car on the way to the dr, walked back inside the house, and back into my bedroom. Plus numerous trip to the bathroom, LOL!!!

Well my dancing went okay, but, I have a bad left knee that needs replacement, I do not want to have, so it did not appreciate the exercise much....I think I will try some bicycling.

i know for sure i should walk alot more...for my heart more that for weight loss...im just too damn lazy i guess lol..hey at least im being honest...my wife has been on me to start walking together...if for nothting else to spend some time together...so i need a swift kick in the ass !!!

23 minutes on elliptical machine at gym burned 250 cals according to Polar FT7 HRM. Did aqua zumba class after that for 45 minutes and burned another 162 cals. Did 40 situps that morning and strength training stuff like planks, arm lifts with dumbells and squats too. Fit bit gave me 128 cals burned for walking throught out the day too. Total cals burned was 562 in exercise! Hitting the gym again today after work for elliptical for 25 minutes and Water in Motion cardio class for an hour after that!

Boo, of course your ups and downs and arounds count.! You did not lie in bed all day with that ear ache, you got up and moved. I tell the little old lady that I watch that any movement is better than no movement!
And becca, thank you for the lovely offer to clean you bathroom! It is sooo much fun. Especially when you have so many males in the house. Please, tell me if you know, the great mystery of how they get it on the side of the toilet where the bolts are? lol
