Miserable pain

Hi everyone

I'm 5 days post op and this am I woke up with horrible pain that makes it hard , even impossible, to move. Pain is much worse today than it has been. Is this normal? Or maybe because I slept on my side for awhile last night? That seems to be the area that is hurting so bad. I've been taking my pain meds and getting all the fluids in and Walking every hour or so around my downstairs. Any opinions or ideas?

the pain should be getting better with each day unless you over exhorted yourself. I would definitely five the Dr. a call give him the details of your pain. I hope it gets better soon.

If it is severe call your surgeon. Don't take chances, could be nothing, could be hernia forming.

Definitely call the doc...doesn't matter that it is a weekend...this does not sound right.

A lot of the pain could be muscular. I feel for ya! All I seem to read is how great everyone is doing and feeling afterward. I knew I couldn't be that easy! And now lately there are several posts of people being in lots of pain. Hang in there girl! Wouldn't hurt to atleast give the dr a call.

I had the same thing happen pain on my left side around the lap site that they do most of the surgery "work" on. I ended up getting a CT scan to be sure it was not a leak but then was told more or less it would get better. It did get better over the next few days.

It was so painful in part because I did not know to expect the pain to get worse after it had gotten better. After the fact everyone here agreed that left lap site is the worst.

Please call to update your surgical team....they may want to see/scan you to make sure you do not have a leak which will only get worse.

Your pain should be lessening.. I did over do a little my 1st week and was real sore. Did you lift anything you should not have? Call your doctor if it isn't better real soon.

Yes, same thing happened to me on the left side, about a week postop.
I thought i over did it cuz i had felt great and may have done too much.
but yeah, it was painful as hell!
Hang in there, it'll get better...

I'm sorry to hear about your pain. One of things with pain meds is that you need to take them every 4 hours to keep the pain relief in full, sustained force. Otherwise you will be chasing the pain if you wait until it hurts to take it. Not to say that is what you are doing but I just wanted to throw that out there just in case. :-)

I sure hope you are feeling better soon.
