It was so wonderful to step out of my comfort zone and meet the wonderful Ms. ChocolateAmazon last night over dinner. She is such a sweetheart and I am thankful for the opportunity to pick her brain and get some key pointers on the do's and dont's of weight loss surgery. I look forward to many many more years of building what has started out as an instant bond of friendship or as the cab driver put it "family" much love.

AWWWWW*tearing up* you need to stop. It was so good meeting you also, and you are so beautiful both inside and out. We clicked from the beginning, thru our texting and talking. Meeting you finally last night just solidified the friendship that was in the making. Now I have an "older sister" who doesn't live that far from me and I couldn't be more excited. Very sweet. I am glad you have someone close that can so you can share your experiences. I am lucky enough to work with a woman who had the same surgery three weeks after I did, same hospital, same doctor. We don't always see each other but we text and try to meet a few times a month to share our updates. It does make it easier.

Now see that is what I am talking about - networking in your city with others who share your experience and can make a positive as opposed to negative impact on your life and decision to have WLS. I find that you can talk about this with loved ones etc., but if it wasn't for this site and people who have had this surgery, I would be loss. When you talk to people who have walked the walk of wls it makes all the difference in the world. So if you are lonely and have bonded with someone on the site who you have a good repore with and they live near you - reach out and support one another. It doesn't always have to be about the surgery - just life, laughter and the joy you all share because of it.
