Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
One of the things my boyfriend really likes that i fix is chicken breast tenderloins baked in hot sauce. It's like buffalo wings but healthy.
Add some celery sticks with light ranch and a small baked potato or some garlic roasted asparagus and its a healthier version of what you would order at a place like applebees. :)
ultimately...this surgery is about you. I too struggle with trying to please everyone....but here is the thing....you are doing this to better yourself obviously because it's something that needs to be done. If this person you are living with can't be on board with your healthy meals....you may have to tell him he will have to find his own dinner.
The truth is if you are trying to diet and having to cook the fattening stuff too, it's only going to make the process harder on you. And it's hard enough to make good choices without dangling the bad ones in your own face and taunting yourself.
Best of luck to you. you can do it! :) And i'm still pre op but from all the post op stuff people talk about on here, I can assure you it will be worth it. I have to keep telling myself that too.
I never say diet, I always say we are eating to live. And by changing our style of eating, like no fried foods (tho he still eats french fries out), and cutting out fatty types of meat (mostly red) he has lost weight even eating all my leftovers!
I think it's all in their head some what, just like us having to deal with head games. Just start preparing more healthy meals that taste good of course and see what happens.
Good luck!
