I will be 10 weeks post-op on Wednesday ... I am also down 57 pounds and agree life is great!!!! I feel better than I have in years and am doing things I haven't been able to do in years.....
Cooking is not one of them... LOL.... I do scour the Internet looking for recipes and then I give them to my hubby.... He is the cook of the family.... I still find food and eating to be annoying.... Although I am starting to feel hungry from time to time....
Enjoy your new found love of cooking... Just only eat the healthy things...
And it is nice to know I am right where someone else is in this journey.... Feels like things are going as they should....

Ya know... I am still preop, but when I started to eat healthy a few years back I just dreaded having to cook healthy (cook at all!) meals... But over time I have truly enjoyed making healthy dishes, and trying to find ones my family will eat.

Same here! Spent recovery watching food network! My hubby.thought I was nuts! Lol

I too am a lover of the cooking/baking process. I now search Shelly's eggface site for great recipes and anywhere else that I can find low carb, high protein recipes. I have loved sharing with others that are trying to eat healthier due to many different health reasons, not just weight loss. I have been excited and surprised by the interest that woman in my church have shown - for themselves as well as their families. This crazy journey is turning into an unexpected ministry. Who would have ever imagined???

lol! I love to cook now too! Its crazy, but I enjoy going on line and searching healthy, fun meals to make now, even though I can only have little bites of them :) and, my kids and hubby are loving it too.

i have always been a fan of cooking shows...even when i was in high school i used to come home and watch the galloping gourmet and the frecnh chef...to THIS DAY i still love the food network and the cooking channel...my wife and i split the cooking pretty much...she cooks during the week except fridays when i pickup up something fast food...and i do all the cooking on weekends..because i can usually grill out or smoke something outside...lol..my days are spent looking at pinterest.in the food and wine section...i really never lost my love for cooking...but yep...it made me kinda sad at first when i would cook and not be able to eat what i had made.

57 must be the lucky number, I'm 9 weeks out and down 57lbs, I'm the same way but with baking!!
