Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

To maximize weight-loss after bariatric surgery, you need to: eat at least 70 grams of protein a day (ideally, dense protein - like chicken, fish, etc), eat at least 3 bites of protein for every 1 bite of anything else, avoid white foods (bread, flour, rice, pasta, sugar, potatoes, etc) and simple carbs, drink lots of water, don't drink with meals (or 30 minutes before/after), move as much as you can every day, and get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.
We call this "doin' the deal." It's how we can best use the tool of surgery to escape obesity and become the healthiest versions of ourselves. If we do our part, the surgery works. If we don't, it doesn't.
It's totally worth it, I promise!!
