liquid diet advice

im suppose to get my surgery next month and they say after the surgery ur on the liquid diet for 3 weeks but i just wanted to know what everyone drank or had for there liquid diet ?

Protein shakes mostly. I used the protein powder from Walmart (you can buy many different types now. My surgery was 11 years ago, we didn't have much to choose from!) Broth, jello, pudding, yogurt. due to the surgery, you probably won't even want more than this, I never felt like I was "starving". Food just lost it's attraction.

I’m in the middle of my two week pre-op diet and doing well. I’m drinking 3-4 Premier Protein shakes a day as well as two Gatorade Zeros (per my doctor’s instructions) and tons of clear non-sugar beverages (as well as sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles). I honestly haven’t been hungry yet. I’m surprised at how easy it’s been. As far as my clear liquids: water, water flavored with crystal light, caffeine free teas, broths.

I’ve learned a lot during these two weeks. A lot of what I previously thought was hunger wasn’t true hunger. I was either just craving something or eating because it was “time” to eat.

I’m hoping this has me prepared for the post op diet!
