I think I may have become lactose intolerant, something we all know can happen with our surgery. I am not sure though, I don't have bloating, discomfort, cramping etc but I do have very loose stools after my morning protein drink mixed with skim milk. It's not every day either. Does anyone else have similar problems with milk or dairy? I may just switch to almond milk but does that have any calcium or vitamin D in it? Should I bump up my calcium and vitamin D? I don't see my doctor til next month to discuss these issues and it's really not life-altering. BTW... I am 3 months out. Thanks, Kim

I was lactose intolerant before surgery and still I'm after. You should be able to chat with your Nut anytime. Please consider seeking their advice. Good luck

I was intolerant pre surgery, but not after. Almond milk has less protein than regular skim milk so that was a down side for me. I want all I can get. Is your protein whey or Soy? You may have a sensitivity to the protein source and not the milk. It is common for people to have a soy sensitivity.
You also might try drinking smaller shakes, more often. It may just be too much protein for your body to handle all at once.

No problems but you can read the labels to find out how much calcium and D something has. I drank silk soy milk for years but drinking whole fresh from the cow milk now

Yes, I get stomach cramps, and Terrible gas. I get by with my cereal with milk pretty good but the protein shakes are hard to get down.
I don't like the soy milk. So I just use as little skimmed milk as I can get by with,

By the way you can get protein shakes that you can mix with water. That was my answer. Again Good Luck
