Hi, I am just getting started in my journey. After years and years of dieting my way to 240lbs I have a consultation next week with a great surgeon. I am nervous. Reading your posts has been enlightening (and somewhat frightening). It scares me to think of an entire new way of eating but it scares me more to never get control. Does that make sense. Congratulations to all of you and thanks for the inspiration.

I was just thinking a few minutes ago as I made cheeseburgers..Its awesome to smell this fattening food and not want any of it....Yesterday he wanted chilli cheese dogs and I amde those......
No temptation!!

Thank you all for the welcoming words. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the coming days, weeks. I am interested in how your "cravings" have been affected by the surgery. I have read that the appetite hormones are often greatly reduced (along w/ the amount you can eat.) Another thing I am curious about is if you told the people you work with about your GBS. Have a good Wednesday.

Welcome! I've only been around since last month, but I've already seen how wonderful and encouraging everyone is! I searched through lots of other groups, and I have to say I haven't found any like this one! If I am having a day where I question if this is really what I want to do, I come on here and read the posts and it's very reaffirming. I was nervous before my first appointment, but it goes so fast, and before you know it, it's over. Good luck!

Welcome!! It is totally normak to be afraid of an entire new way of eating/living. I had those same fears. Coming here and seeing so many successful people helped me summon the courage to change my life. I'm so glad I finally took charge of my health and had the surgery!!
