Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Good luck and relax, everything will be just fine.
Nice that you will be in a hotel and not have to smell foods cooking...
Just remember: sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk, and rest...
You will be just fine... Look forward to seeing all your posts as you reach the other side....
Also, find a good book, crossword puzzles or something to keep busy the first week. I find if I am doing something like that I am forgetting some of my worries/pain. Just remember - you can do this!!!! :)
Best of luck on your journey.... and save me a spot on the losers bench! By the time its my turn, you will have this puppy figured out! :)
Don't forget chapstick/lip balm, my lips got so dry in the hospital...loose nighties are good, but I mostly bummed around in sweatpants the first week along with comfy sports bras from Target (the Champion ones are nice and soft)...other than that, bring some form of entertainment :) oh! have some gas x on hand too ;)
Loose clothes are a must. Some slip on shoes you can step into.
I could barely empty the dishwasher before I had to go sit down and ended up sleeping for 3 hours.
Getting your fluids in cannot be stressed enough. I didn't and became dehydrated. While I did get a fluid IV that really helped, if you avoid this please do..... cotton mouth is miseable.
I do hope that you'll have someone with you for moral support. If not I hope you'll have access to online so you can get support from this group!!!!
Congratulations on making your decision.
