HI all,

I am 10 days post op and all is going well including weight loss and have returned to work.

However, in the last two days i have noticed that at night my skin between at the fold of my thighs gets itchy also my under arms. I can only relate this to the fact that i have no oils in my liquid diet at all. Has anybody else expereienced this.

Hi Jazzman,

Congratulations on getting through your surgery my friend. The itching could be down to a number of things including lack of fluids, However it could also be the sign of a fungal infection so get it checked out by your GP.

I had a terrible time with itching for a while. Increasing my water intake and making sure to moisturize after a shower really helped. But l agree with Andie, tell your doctor about it in case it is something that need treating.

I had an allergic reaction to the surgical glue they used, I emailed my surgeon and he told me how to safely remove it and immediately my itching stopped. Email your surgeon and ask him if that could be the problem. Just a thought...

i had a itching bad over my back and tummy. i found it lasted about two months and when it was gone i was two sizes smaller. Seems my tissues were draining. We itch when we are getting strech marks so why not itch when we are losing from the big fat pockets?

I truely believe this. I wouldn't if it didn't happen to me.

At about 3 weeks out I had what in hindsight must have been an allergic reation of terrible itching on belly and under arms.. My dr said benadryl otc it worked. I think it may have been a reaction to the blood thinner I was on for 10 days post op. d

I would have your blood work checked again too. That itching can be a sign that something is up with your thyroid. Believe it or not, itching between my legs was how they figured out that I had a thyroid problem. :)
