Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

Now to answer all your questions and inquiries-
cincurr- I can actually walk for more than five minutes now and not have my back hurt at all. Its just my feet now! Ha! Personal record so far was walking around Universal Studios a few months back for about five hours(not in a row, but still!) I was real tired after that! As for wow moments, I got a pair of shorts of my old shorts a month ago that were so loose, I couldnt take a deep breath in w/o them almost slipping off. That was pretty amazing.
kittycani- i didnt go home same day, i stayed overnight so they could moniter my vitals and such. I could walk but I was very uncomfortable with it all for a few weeks until i could move w/o pain. Then it was easier than expected.
tekwriter- i do love joe boxer. my bathrobe is still nice and comfy, albeit loads looser now. and i haqd some jammie bottoms too, but i accidentaly pulled the string out, so now their way too loose. I had to pull the string and tie them to make it fit.
Nattee- this year has been difficult, but well worth it. So glad i did it. No major complications, but I did have some pain the first few weeks, but that was alliviated by pain meds that they gave me. I was able to walk normally(as in, more than for a minute at a time) after those painful few weeks. Some foods go down easier than others- i personally have some trouble with dairy products- for that, i just take a multi every day so I get my daily vitamins.
Thanks for all the kind words fellow 'losers'!!!!
