I would be feeling just like you, but you need to BREATHE...I already know you pray, and that you know this entire thing is in God's hands, and that a lot of peopel here are praying with and for you...breathe and trust him. My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis and is on the list for a double lung transplant, so I feel your frustration with doctors, hospitals, insurance companies,and I know how hard it is to remember, but we both know it is all in God's hands, all his timing, and his timing, while may not be what we think we want, has always been right in my life...Praying for your nerves over the weekend, and for the call on Monday to be only good. I am so sorry this happened to you.... I think that is very insensitive of the office to leave a message like that... But lets be positive... Maybe they need to change your appointment, or have you stop somewhere for some reason.... It is my experience that docs do not give bad news on the phone.... And I would like to believe if it were something that was going to cause a roadblock she would have waited until you were in the office to bring it up....
I have had these Friday afternoon phone calls, or letters in the mail happen to me... I got a letter the Friday before my last neck surgery telling me that my insurance was NOT going to cover the surgery... That the symptoms I was complaining of were on the wrong side of my body in conjunction with the surgery I was having... I had to sit on that ALL week end.... My surgery was scheduled for the following Wednesday... All my pre-op was done....

There is a church near my sons home that always has a sign up that says "Most of the things we worry about never come to pass..." I try real hard to remember that when I am stressing over stuff... But I know it is easier said than done! :)

you have certainly had your hills to climb over to get this close... but I so agree with all that has been shared with you... try and trust in the fact you were verbally told all your tests were fine.. she want to "talk" to you prior to your appt.. it may be as simple as would you mind coming in little later.. maybe I'm grasping but its hard to believe she would have been so callous as to leave a message on your machine if it were something really serious... the only phone number I now give out to ESPECIALLY my doctors is my cell for exactly this reason.. I too have had a few of those long weekends of worrying... however even that's not fool proof... my prayers and thoughts remain with you .. and trust all will be fine :)

Do they have an on call Doc...maybe you can call that # and find out. Just let them know you are really stressed about it....Its horrible that they would leave a message like that on a Friday....Sending Positive thoughts your way...Best Wishes

I will pray about your new doctor as well. I had to switch my primary care dr because she told me that I will not be able to with stand the diet. Nice support, huh? Keep your head up, ok? debby

Once again thank you all for the support - i was so frustrated i went to bed early and just woke up and you guessed it the first thoughts on my mind was the phone call. I am trying not to focus on it - but it is right in the forefront of my mind. I pray its nothing to postpone this surgery again, and i will keep telling myself that all weekend but I am so not feeling the way she left the message and leaving my mind to race all weekend on what it may or may not be. I tried calling but she was not on call last night - they have an urgent care after hours and they said that the doctor on call may very well be able to look at the chart but may not know the particular reason why she called me - out of sheer frustration, I hung up. So my reality is I have to wait this out until Monday. I know in my heart of hearts that God would not bring me this far to leave me and prayerfully if there is any delay it is something I can fix in the next two weeks prior to my date. I have to stay positive and pro-active right now or else I will loose it. The first thing i said was if it's another delay It's a wrap and I will just cancel, but I know that is a trick of the enemy - I can't let the devil win and keep me in bondage again. Please continue to pray for me as I wait this out. It is going to be a long weekend. Blessings to all.

P.S. I haven't even told my husband about the possible set back yet because I refuse to believe that there will be one, so please know despite my frustration I am working hard to stay positive. I needed to vent and sorry but tag you're it. I refuse to let anything throw me off course for this surgery - I just couldn't help wondering if all these road blocks was Gods way of telling me "not to do this", and it's those kind of doubts right now that I don't need.

been thinking about you..this does makes for a long weekend.. still leaning towards it being an info only phone call and I pray that I'm right.. we know the devil can play major head games on us.. He is truly my worst enemy.... we will keep up the prayers to void any of his negative vibes.... :)

I totally get it!!! how about a little human decency, they should treat you like they would want someone to treat their own family memeber.

This is where Faith comes in. KEEP CALM. even if you feel like venting to them, please dont for your own agenda.

Remember, they monitor your emotional stability, and you don't want anything to go into your file. Even though you have every right to complain, and what they did to you is unforgiveable.

Finally, remember, you are a customer, you are money to their clinic for the gastric bypass, you are revenue. So, I can assure you they want you to have your surgery on time.

I bring this up frequently at support group and the doc's turn a little red. It's the truth.

So, read, take a bubble bath, get a back rub, and be ready for Monday to call them. Have faith that this is nothing major, and you will be on the road to better health in about 3 weeks.

Suzy i take everything you just said to heart and trust me i know to keep my cool - the last thing i need is to give them ammo where they can say i am unstable. lol. I am trusting God for FAVOR. I know that before the xray of my side she said it may be muscular and that i may need to keep a heating compress on it so when she called to say all the test came back negative i thought she would have reiterated that but she didn't - i'm praying that is all the call is about a proactive approached to the pain i am experiencing in my side. Take your home phone number off your medical record and only leave your cell phone on it. That way, you'll get the calls you need to get.....

That said, hang in there! Whatever she wants to discuss will wait. If it's just another hurdle.... well, we all had to jump through lots of hoops to finally get to the surgery. But it's all worth the effort. So take a deep breath, and try to enjoy your weekend! :)

Farmgirl bar none that is the best suggestion yet and first thing Monday morning that is precisely what i am going to do. Just give them one number because apparently it is too confusing for them to get it right. Thanks for chiming in and the support. I've been keeping myself busy this weekend not to give it MUCH thought. I guess i am ready for whatever it is.

Adding my prayers to others here. I also agree, what an insensitive call to make! Farm girl has a perfect suggestion. Only one number for them to call in the future. Also feedback to your Dr. Is perfectly fair, she needs to hear how her actions impact you and other patients. You're doing a great job and also so happy your husband is stepping up to be with you after surgery. Blessings!
