I just can't do oatmeal. It looks and smells good but I get nauseated when I take a bite.
I did alot of crockpot stuff like chicken with cheddar cheese soup or chicken with broccoli & broccoli & cheese soup or cream of broccoli soup.
Good luck sweetie!

I would stay away from mashed potatoes (they didn't work for me anyway, too heavy) and oatmeal, little nutrionion towards healing, unless your putting protein powder on it..
What about stirring protein powder into sugar free pudding?
There is also an old weight watchers trick, where you do replace the cold water in jello with yogurt, you could use greek yogurt and protein powder to make it a little more nutritious..
Good luck, this too shall pass :)
I am almost four weeks post op and since I am scared to "eat" even soft foods i eat a lot of homemade creamy soups and cream of wheat (skm milk and splenda with SF maple syrup for flavor), vanilla pudding , protein shakes and pureed chicken and carrots.
Good luck!!
raviolis smashed up.. cream soups...
Lucy
4 c broccoli trimmed and cut into large spears
cooking spray
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 c fat free ricotta
1 t fresh ginger
1/4 t red pepper flakes
Steam broccoli until soft (10-15 mins); spray non-stick pan with cooking spray, saute garlic on medium heat until barely golden; cut broccoli into chunks and place with all ingredients in a food processor; pulse until combined
I think I must be the only WLS surgery patient that can not have jello! LOL. My doctor doesn't want us to eat it because he says it goes down way too easy and he finds that his patients I over eat when they have it. Too much of a chance of stretching the pouch. (he calls it "breaking your pouch" LOL)

@NewJen, my plan kind of skips what most people call the pureed phase and goes to "soft foods". Instead of having to puree stuff I just have to chew it to death. I actually think it helps with some of the head hunger because I am chewing so much.
I am missing vegetables too. I can have canned peas, beans, etc. but I ate lots of raw veggies before surgery and I can't have those yet. I am staying away from some of the things that I can have like toast, potatoes, etc because those are trigger foods for me and I will totally overeat if I have them.
I know this will be over soon and I just have to stay positive!
