I have Hypothyroidism and i hadn't thought anything about it slowing my weight loss down but i guess it could.

I know my levels are getting better so they are decreasing my meds that always makes me happy.

I have hypothyroidism as well but I don't know if it will matter as long as I take my meds.

I also have hypothyroidism, I am only 3 months post op rny.. They had to up my med once in the past 3 months since surgery, my pcp said we would probably be going up and down on my med until my i reach my goal weight.. but i haven't noticed any difference....

Me too! I've been a slow loser. Just under 80 lbs in just over 6 months. So far my medicine hasn't needed to be adjusted.

No changes or differences during my weightloss phase. My TSH was steady at 2.4-2.6 on 137mcg levothyroxine. I'd lost 87 pounds one year after RNY gbs. Now, I have symptoms of hyperthyroidism. My medication has been reduced twice over the past month. I'm scheduled for blood work on 12/26, so we'll see what the numbers say then. My symptoms are hard to deal with right now. I have too high a dosage for the amount of body to medicate. I'm down to 112 mcg of levothyroxine.

A properly treated thyroid should have no bearing on the rate of loss or the success of wls.

I have hypothyroidism. I am 8.5 months out and have lost 104 pounds. I just had my synthroid reduced last week for the first time in 10 years. I am 10 lbs from my goal.

I have hypothyroidsm. the only time it affected my weight loss was a few mths after my first surgeon took me off my synthroid and no one knew untill 4 mths later he had done it. then about 6mths after they had started me back on synthroid i needed a increse. both times my weight loss had stoped both times i droped 10 or more lbs the first few weeks of restarting it. I have an endocrinologist now she said as the weight comes off the hormone levels will fluctuate

I'm on 100 mg of synthyroid for mine. I wasn't able to take it for a few weeks after surgery cause I got sick with it and weight loos was slow and I was so sleepy. At week 3 I was able to keep it down and the weight started falling off fast I went from 275 to 242 in 7weeks. My hypothyroid didn't mess anything up to me it made me work harder if my levels are good in feb they will decrease it. My goal for my one anniv is to be on the lowest dose or completely off. I am now only take my blood sugar levels once a day and no more dm meds.

I have Hashimoto's also. As long as I take my thyroid med Im fine. Has not affected my weight loss at all. I get my levels checked every 6 months and so far so good.
