Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I have leveled out and have days that I am more hungry than others. I pretty much eat what I want and maintain this weight. I avoid grease and sugar. The portion size is pretty important. Sometimes I still get too much. But your pouch only holds so much.
I walk a lot on the job and do a lot of stair steps. Figured up about 1440 stairs in an 8 hour shift. So must be burning a few calories.
Guess hunger is a normal feeling now. I remember early on in this journey having to eat when the clock said so and having no appetite. That does change with time.
This is a wonderful website! We are all winners here!
If you talk to always been thin people, they will tell you often that they too have days where they are hungrier than others. Even my NUT says this is normal. That they should balance out with days where we are not as hungry as normal. IF we really listen to our bodies, we will feel these cues.
I think it's important to honor what our bodies need with quality choices. On days like this, I eat more veggies... Lots of bulk without lots of extra calories :)
These things can all make us feel/think we are hungry:
thirst
being tired
stress
bordom
specific situations (movie theatre, birthday party, watching tv, etc)
caffeine
carbs
artificial sweeteners
Not everyone feels hungry every time one of these is present, but if you are struggling with hunger, they are a good place to start!
