Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
For me, i gulped up until surgery day - which was 9/29/15. Afterward, i am still training myself to sip - it's hard but my pouch lets me know very quickly that i drank too much at one time! Keep a water bottle with you at all times - especially when not at home. I went to the store, spent some time in there without water, then bought a bottle to drink on the way home. Not thinking (because i was so thirsty), I gulped my water - big mistake! My pouch let me know all the way home that it was not happy with me!
Hang in there and don't stress over this - your pouch will definitely let you know that you can't gulp!
