Me too I am right there with ya on this one and I really thought it would get better or I'd get used to it by now (2 1/2 years surgiversary tomorrow) but nope... I am a shivering icicle... loss of fat insulation and less mass to move so less energy generation. Not a whole lot can be done... I guess we could throw on a sweater, turn up the heat, eat spicy food or travel the globe and follow the summer months ;) I like the last one... I just need to win the lottery first.

I am always cold. Invest in some good sweaters hon. I have blankets all over the house that I snuggle under. my husband calls me "linus" because I am always under a blanket! LOL The way my doc explained it is that our bodies are trying to adapt to the rapid weight loss . so we get cold easily. it is a little side effect but hey whats a little cold compaired to lugging around the extra weight! LOL

I have been fighting this every since I lost 75lbs. I am at 140lbs lost and it has gotten worse. I am to the point where the cold hurts. I live in the North west so we get cold all the time. Like now. Its snow and ice on the grounds. But every one is right. There isn't anything that can be done except invest in sweaters. I will tell you Fleece is my new best friend. LOL
There is a commercial for a new fleece one size fits all over the body with arms blanket called the snuggie. I love it. I got the one with pockets and extra think. You can take it anywhere and it is comfy and warm always. You should look in to it.

A lot of times, after such a hefty weightloss in a short period of time, your blood pressure will be a bit low and that will cause you to be colder than normal. Remember, you lost all your insulation! About all I can suggest is what I do. Wear layers till you are warm. Sometimes I have 4 or 5 layers. At night, I wear a lot of my "fat" sweatshirts over my smaller clothes, so I can have lots of comfortable layers. The first winter after surgery is the worst! At least for me, I was a bit warmer (before layers) the following winter. I know it's hard! But I would rather be thinner and cold, than fatter and sweaty!!

you mean...I am goign to get colder?? I am ALWAYS cold..even at 269 pouds..i am always freezing. I cant imagine getting colder! Thanks for the heads up..maybe I should invest in more space heaters now!

Ask for an electric blanket for Christmas!! LOL Hmmmm....maybe I will too!

The worst part of always being cold is when I am at work. I have to wear my winter coat ALL day in a professional office. I would wear my gloves too if I did not have to type! I cannot wait to get to Florida on spring break and lay around in the sun until my skin blisters! Ok maybe sun screen first...but the thought of hot sun is almost my fantasy at this point! HEAT!!!

Kate47: Maybe buy a pair of knit gloves and cut the finger tips off to type. At least you will be partially war. So far I have been lucky and not experienced the great chill. I am down 86 pounds and still find I am warm most of the time.

COLD!!!! That is me everyday all day. I invested in some underwear called Cuddles they work great at work under my scrubs and under my clothes at home. Now if I can find something for my hands that would be perfect. Tried the glove thing with fingers cut out but fingers are so cold. It does have to do with the insulation that we've lost. I have gone from a size 8 ring size to a size 5 1/2. So needless to say NO insulation there. I did find if I keep my hands busy (knitting etc) that they seem to be okay. Good Luck with staying warm. But it is a small price to pay for such rewarding results!!!!

Boy, can I relate. I have been freezing and I live in southern CA. I don't remember ever being so cold in supermarkets before surgery, but now I have to wear a jacket when I go shopping. I started wearing men's undershirts under my sweaters to keep warm. God luck.

I deal with the cold by the way of a heating blanket and long johns....

I had an electric throw for the living room and it went kaput, but I accidentally found a receipt in a bag that shows I'm getting one for Christmas! LOL I wear layers and sweats and sweatshirts when I'm home. I'm about to invest in some longies for under my clothes at work and I have a small space heater under my desk. I will take this over the fat anyday. You can always get warm..but you can't always get thinner.

I stay cold now. My husband and kids jump when I touch them with my ice cold hands. I go around wearing sweaters and my coat. I went to a party last night and never took my coat off. Not the best manners, but at least I was almost warm. And I can never seem to get warm enough in the car. I actually questioned whether or not it was even blowing hot air.

My cheeks and nose stay cold too. Has anyone had that happen?

OH Yes I am ALWAYS COLD TOO!!!!!!!! BRRRRRR Right now the wind is blowing like crazy here and it feels like it is going right threw me!!!!! I used to always be hot when I was 278 lbs. But now at 155 lbs I am cold all the time. I don't think there is anything we can do but wear layers and turn the heat up. I do like Michelle's idea of traveling with the summer months! LOL But I would have to win a LOT of money first and the hard thing is I don't even play the lottery! LOL
