Can you tell me how long you were in the hospital after surgery? Mine is scheduled and everything is done. I was told to lose 13 pounds and I have lost 7 so I feel that I will be O.K. I didn't even as about how long you are in the hospital. Thanks for all the support.

Plans vary by doctor. I had surgery at 8am on a Monday and was home by 2pm on Wednesday.

I think I was in for three nights. I am 40 (ahem) ish and had diabetes and sleep apnea (severe) as co-morbidities and they had to keep me in to track my sugar and sleep patterns.

However: diabetes gone. Sleep apnea going. Small investment. Huge benefit. :)

Congratulations on the weight loss, let us know when your surgery is the night before so we can dogpile some luv on you. :)

3 nights. First day was fine, second day was hell, and the third day was great. I had no complications, just gas pain in my right shoulder the second day and a nurse who didn't keep me current with my pain meds (hard to walk the halls when you can hardly move). For me, the night nurses were great but the day nurse, not so much. I really had to advocate for myself with the day crew.

3 nights. It's safe at first, but you're motivated to get better so you can go home quickly. You don't need to bring anything.

I spent only one night in the hospital. The Bs wanted me to stay for 2, but I begged. he told me if I could walk and the pain was manageable I could go home the next day. I had surgery on the 3rd of Feb at 11 AM, and was released at 1 PM the 4th. It varies, but I was really glad to push for the early out. I slept sooo much better at home.

I went in at noon, had surgery about 7:00 pm, the last of the day, and was the second one out the next day at 2:00 after our post op group orientation. No complications. Lap RNY

Had surgery at 10 am on Wednesday and home by 2pm on Thursday. No pain meds!!

RNY 2-3 days.
A lot of pain a lot of meds.
It took me about 6 weeks to recover and 3 months to feel more myself. I am 51. Hope

I had lap rny.... went in wednesday had surgery @ 7am and was discharged on Friday by noon.

I live in CT. The doctor I went to kept us overnight for 2 days and i was home by 2 pm after that second night stay. Granted this was after i had to prove i can go to the bathroom on my own and i can keep down jello and water......... GOOD LUCK! IT IS SOOO WORTH IT!!!!

I was in on a Wed out on Friday, late day. Back at hospital ER on Sunday with infection in the major incision.

I wish they had kept me a third night.

My schedule was close to Hope's about 6 to 8 weeks to feel better and maybe 3 months to feel totally like myself.

The infection threw me bigtime..
