I am looking at my book right now, and it has molasses as a big NO NO food. I also know that ketchup is loaded with sugar and SODIUM. I would be very careful. Just my opinion here. I know everybody has different plans and opinions, so go with your own here, but I would be wary. It would be based on how far out you are. Ketchup is absolutely out for me. more for the sodium than anything. molasses is a concentrated sugar. Just be careful, and use your best judgement. I know beans are good, but not with so many sugars... if you have to share them...Others always love them, and you can enjoy the company....I always enjoy others enjoying the fruits of my labor. I cooked professionally for many years, and I baked, and I miss that, so for me, it is soothing to feed others, even if i don't eat with them.
I am just wondering though...
I eat at most a half a cup at a time and normally I would have no more than 1/4 cup probably less as a side for my meal.
If I have no problem with the sugars (I am 4 months out) would this be a decent source of protien in moderation (I can always freeze them).
I only have trouble if I try to ingest a large portion of high sugar foods which I have no business doing anyway.
I find the beans have a much needed side effect of getting things going (if you know what I mean)

These are the baked beans I make. These are a great meal on their own.

A little BBQ sauce and the majority of the sweetness comes from apple.
Hope you enjoy them.

I did check your site for beans before I made mine and I couldn't find anything.
I was disappointed because I was sure you would have something and of course you do : )
I wonder if you will come out with something made from the dry navy bean version (ya know the cheaper kind from the bag or bin from scratch).
If anyone can do it I know you can.
I think the trick would be finding a replacement for the molassas.
Thanks Shelly your a genius, love your site. Cheers Vickie
