had knee replacement on tuesday doing to well to go to rehab, so ins wouldn't approve it...the only one they would approve was a nursing home not a rehab, so i opted to go home since its the weekend, but damn it my husband is not any help. He has his own agenda and to hell with me. He took scripts up to the pharmacy (one that is new & we have never used) and came back and demanded that I call the doctor right now because those RX's were not legal cuz u couldn't read the doc name and even though he had my discharge paper, they would not touch them because My Name was not on them!!!!! He even threw the paper work and ins card down on the table in front of me and started to walk away!!! I needed my pain meds I was past due, and the ordeal of getting home made everything even worse. I was in pain so I shouted at him that he could not just leave me high and dry with no pain meds, and to go to our regular pharmacy and that I didn't give a damn if it was farther from home. He finally did, but it has not been good around here. Lots of fighting and not helping PT will be here tomorrow and then I will know better what I can and can't do. I need a shower, but I'll be damned if I'll ask him to help!!! I'm to tired tonight anyway. I guess I'm feeling sorry for myself, and that should make me want to eat and binge, but I really don't even want to look at food!!!(that's a first)

I am so very sorry to hear all of this. You have been through so much and then to be behind on your pain meds on top of everything else much have been horrible. I cannot imagine. I am sorry that you are struggling with your husband. I am glad that you finally got what you needed and that the PT is coming tomorrow to help you out and that you will get a better idea of where things stand. I know that your bariatric surgery probably is in the background right now but, really, you joke about wanting to eat everything in sight but, in reality, that is what we probably would have done prior to this surgery. This is a real change for us and the way we cope now. Good for you for not using food as a crutch. Again, I am so sorry that you are in such pain and that you are so very frustrated...I could feel it as I was reading your post and it really hurt my heart. Continue to reach out to us...we are here for you.

Aww, I'm sorry Pegmarie! After you have a good cry try to get some sleep. Maybe you have a friend or family close by who could come help you a few hours every day? Feel better soon.

So sorry you do not have any support. I had knee surgery too so I understand the pain. Is there anyone else that can help you?

I have a daughter in town about 35 mins away. All my other children live out of state and country (germany) My daughter here has a family of five, and on top of that she is sick with a resp infection, that I don't want to catch. I really think that the real issue is that he is angry that I came home instead of rehab AKA nursing home. It's not something he feels he should have to deal with. He even said that he had not signed up for this, and he really really doesn't know what or how to do anything.

I am so sorry. Don't forget to ice your knee too. I am sure PT will tell you that. It will help the swelling and pain. You can use a frozen bag of vegies. I hope you get to feeling better. Please eat. Protein is even more important now to help you heal.

I am so sorry your hubby is acting like that! "Did not sign up for that"? I thought you were married, sorry, I must think differently than he does about what that means. I wish I could help you. Praying for you!

So sorry you are having such a time with all of this! I too had a knee replacement in 2011, and it is a HARD recovery!! I am thinking your hubby need to have his replaced and be left without pain meds! (Sorry, but I think hes being so unsupportive, and that's the nice word I am thinking of!) I don't know how I would have managed without the help of my hubby!

sorry you are having so much trouble. My wife just got home from knee surgery and it hurts a lot, (replacement). Home health is doing her rehab I don't know if you have that option? She has an exercise machine the hospital sent home on loan for a while she is to use 3 times a day. again I don't know what your hospital does. It was a2 weeks ago today she has sugery and her pain has decreased some now.
Hope this might encourage you a little.

Yeah, what happened to "for better or worse?" I'm sure you wouldnt desert him in his time of need! oh, don't get me started....

I am so sorry your husband hasn't been more supportive. I had hip replacement in September, and if I didn't take my pain medication ever 4 hrs, the pain was unbearable. I wish I could help you also. As Nurse 2067 protein will help you heal. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
