I was on liquids the first week and had no problems with my pouch (we weren't supposed to drink protein drinks during that week). My nausea issues started when I started solid food the second week. There is defiantly a learning curve and every pouch is different (sometimes the same pouch is different from day to day!!).
The first couple months are the worst. It gets better!!

I still have all this gas built up in me though which is starting to hurt but I have been walking in hopes it will decide to leave. I honestly can't believe I am on the loser's bench. The journey has just started!
You probably won't have very much sensation from the pouch (except for possibly pain) for a few weeks. That's because it takes the brain a few weeks to figure things out. Then you won't be hungry for a loooong time.
I suggest that you use a kitchen timer set at 15 minute throughout the day. Every time it goes off, sip one to two ounces (like a medicine cup). If you do that consistently, you will get your 64 ounces in.
Also, keep in mind that you will need a lot of rest for a while, and that is a normal part of the recovery. Rest, sip, walk, repeat.... :)
