Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

I hate the vibe of your post. It is very disconcerting. You, like all of us, have hit a plateau or stall. Please do NOT hate yourself! You had this surgery for your health, right? None of us gained our weight quickly nor will we lose it quickly, even with this surgery. It takes time and LOTS of head work. Keeping your head "in the game" and staying on your plan are the only advise I can give you. But just remember, YOU ARE WORTH IT!! Stay strong.
Yes, we all hit walls and stalls. I'm wondering if your doc gave you food plan guidelines. Some of the things you've mentioned that you eat were very definitely "no-nos" on my particular plan. It sounds like you might be consuming too many carbs, which can cause a stall or a gain. If your doc didn't give you a plan to follow post-up, I suggest you do a little Google search and find the suggested amounts of protein-carb-fat ratios to get you back on track to losing again. The discipline of sticking to a good healthy bariatric eating plan will raise your confidence and surely make you feel good about yourself and your journey. It's not easy....it never will be but I know you can do it. Your good nature and your sense of humor will help you get through this! I'm rooting for you!
I visited an old work colleague yesterday and his wife went back to India the day before my surgery and got back here last week, well her jaw dropped and she couldn't believe her eyes, she kept on laughing and commenting how much weight i had lost particularly in my face and how much younger i was looking, so feeling somewhat better about it all.
I have a 6 months review with surgeon on 14 July, i will use that to motivate me.
take care and God bless you all

Whenever I get stuck in the mire of self loathing I try to find someone I can help. Even if it's a little thing like keeping someone company or driving someone to the store or calling someone to make their day. It gets me out of my head for a couple minutes and that takes some of the pressure off.
This will pass.
