Has anyone heard of these. I got a message today from an acquantence who had GBS surgery about 5 years ago. She invited me to a meeting at this nurtition club near her home. She said it was Herbalife and was geared towards people "who had surgery like us"

I am not in the least bit interested in herbalife but I was just curious if anyone has heard of this??

I haven't heard of a center, but I have heard ot Herbalife Weight Loss supplements. If its what I am thinking, its a pyramid scheme. I actually used to take the supplements about 10 years ago. The founder of Herbalife is an ex-meth addict, his supplements made you lose weight, but it had a lot of stuff that is bad for your body. So, I stopped taking it and immediately gained all the weight I lost back.

The reason they are trying to get GBS patients is that the new supplements are geared with protein. GBS patients are set up for success just with the surgery itself. So, it looks good for them if they can show someone who is losing weight while using their product.

They are making a lot of money off you if you buy from them. You can buy the protein and supplements at half the price they offer at GNC.

My advice is just to be careful. People at pyramid schemes can be very pushy...Best Wishes

This is very popular on my daughter's college campus right now. Near campus there is also a store which carries all the supplements as well as will make protein smoothies but they are not cheap! I know she has several friends that are using Herbalife supplements, tea and shakes. Her friends are doing the weight loss program. They are losing weight however they are also no longer drinking, are eating healthier and at the gym every day! So how much is the lifestyle change and how much is the supplements I am not sure. I know it is a pyramid based business because my daughter has been approached many times to start selling the products. So far she has declined. If you go, I will be interested to hear what you think!

Too many carbs, not enough protein, too high sugars.
It is not geared toward WLS post-ops or appropriate for us.

I am not really interested because I am doing well with my weight loss journey and am still losing since I am only 7 months out. The person that sent me the info trying to get me interested never really lost all of her weight and I don't believe she is real compliant with the program so she seems to be looking for an easy fix instead of getting back to basics.

I have heard of them, and would stay away from them... My knowledge is the same as what tic0u said..... Another money making scheme that doesnt care what it actually does to our bodies... Lots of bad stuff in them...
