At 5 months out you should be able to take the adult Tylenol.

I'm 5 weeks out and I've been told I can take extra strength tylenol gel caps. They're easy to swallow.

I crush up tylenol caplets (adult strength). I am 3 months out.
My Dr. told me that children's liquid tylenol has too much sugar in it for the dose I would need.
Can't find adult liquid anymore, so just crush up the pills and it works.

i was told by my Dr at university of Washington hospital surgery center that i cant take any over the counter pain re leaver as it will cause damage and eat holes in the limning so my family phys when every i need a pain re leaver has to write a script for liquid morphine

Wow, that's surprising hwst4. I know that NSAIDs are off limits because they'll cause ulcer problems in people who haven't had gastric bypass, let alone the little tiny stomach pouches that bypass patients have. However, tylenol shouldn't cause a problem like that, since it has no effect on the COX-1 and COX-2 secretion. If anything, too much tylenol will effect your liver before it'll cause issues with your stomach, even in bypass patients. Interesting how different doctors recommend different things.
