Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. Unfortunately I have had a 2 since my surgery and they went pretty smoothly. The last one (in February) the surgeon cut a stitch and tissue that had healed strangely creating a small obstruction. Since then I have done much better with eating.
Ill be thinking and saying a prayer for you. Keep us posted.

I hate that I'm having to have another procedure but I honestly hope it is just a stricture and nothing more serious. I'm tired of not being able to eat and I'm dizzy all the time and I know it is because I'm not taking in enough vitamins.
I'm just praying that this does the trick and I'll be back to my regular self soon. Thanks for all the encouraging words everybody!
Now, do not get discouaged IF they have to do the EGD more than once. I forget how far out you are but I am now 9 weeks out. The way our bodies heal is kind of weird and due to it becoming "soft and mushy" inside afer surgery it could very well do it again. Normally the plan is to keep dialting your stricture until it holds. Mine has so far taken 3 times. The best thing you can do afterwaqrds is IF you think it's coming back schedule ANOTHER scope asap. The sooner you get rescoped the easier it is to stretch it back open. I am praying that 3rd times a charm for me. ;) IF not, God will coninue to help me through it, as He will you.
Let us know. Be ready to completely sleep all day. The meds given for this make you unable to do much of anything :) Nap time ;)
On a bright note, I talked to the gastroenterologist's office that is doing my procedure and I've met my out of pocket deductible so this is covered 100%. At least that is one thing that is not going to stress us out.
Good luck! Let us know what they say!
