Okay so for the past month or so I was feeling really backed up; I felt like I had something stuck in my intestines, like I was always constipated (which I have NEVER been). Last week I had a couple of glasses of wine and got druuuunk. That night I went to the bathroom and had terrible watery diarrhea but let me tell you, I FINALLY felt emptied out! Unfortunately, the diarrhea hasn't stopped!! I eat something and in an hour or less I'm running to the bathroom and it is NOT pretty, not to mention the large amount of noisy gas that accompanies my expulsions. I want to say I eat about 60 - 80% healthy food. By healthy I mean nonfat yogurt, fruit, homemade soups, and salads. (I also REALLY enjoy garlic chicken spring rolls by lean cuisine and weight watchers desserts!) Those are the four main food groups of my diet. I cheat with soda and chips and dip, I'm not going to act like I don't but honestly, my intake is mainly raw fruits and veggies, yogurt, soups, and fruit shakes (fruit, ice, protein powder, wheat grass, aloe; stuff like that). Does anyone have any idea what's wrong with my innards?? My insurance expired so I can't call my doctor and I'm five months post op RNY.

I haven't had surgery yet... but I mean you are only 5 months out, I don't think drinking wine and cheating like that so early out is a good idea. Were you taking anything like colace and adding fiber to your diet on a daily basis? It sounds like the alcohol shocked your system.

It's not the first time I've had wine since I had the surgery. I don't take colace or any added fiber.

I would start by taking gas x, my doctor lets me have 8 per day, then I would log my food and when the diarrhea hits and see if there is a pattern

I wish I had some advice but I am only 5 weeks post op when I was having issues as you stated feeling backed up I called my doctor he advised me to have 2 oz of apple juice with 2 oz of hot water I did that and the same thing happened I was in the bathroom for 2 days and at the time all I was able to have was soup broth, sf jello and popsicles, and cream soups but it kept me in the bathroom for 2 days!!! Woah! not a good experience but better then the pain I was feeling from being backed up! I hope that you are feeling better and can get some good advice on here.

I will not judge.. BUT girl you can not be having soda and chips and dip.. you had this surgery to lose weight which means you made to the choice to give those up! Its great to hear though you are eating healthy but sadly even those meals are processed =/ You want to stay away from processed foods they equal fat... :( And drinking is a no go its bad bad bad.. I do believe though gas x will help.. Btw i have not had the surgery BUT i had been doing research on this surgery for the past 4 years and i will finally have it done June 12... I really hope you cut the soda and snacking and processed foods out :( We dont want to see you fail.. Remember this is your second chance at life :) Feel better :) And please do not feel like i am being mean i have NO intention of that i just dont want to see.. well hear something went wrong =/ We care just remember that

Personally, I would have to say the raw fruits and veggies, especially the veggies could play a part. I find it hardder to digest the raw veggies since the surgery. I get really gassy and it makes me feel backed up like it's just sitting there. try steaming your veggies and definately look into the gas-x. It works wonders!! Good luck
