Hello everyone ! Finally a surgery date! It's November 19. Seems like it has taken forever!!! I'm getting nervous. Now I'm trying to plan the holidays since I am the only one in my entire family to do the holiday meals. Usually for 26! I feel like I'm letting everyone down (especially my daughters) but I know I have to concentrate on myself this year. I love reading all your posts. They have helped immensely. What a wonderful group!

I told this story before but last Thanksgiving I had to cook a whole feast of turkey and trimmings for the extended family and clean up the mess. While I was on my 2 week liquid diet! Couldn't even taste it! Man was I bummed! LOL! But itworked out.

I don't know if I can do that. Your family was very fortunate and I hope they appreciated what a selfless thing you did. Was it really hard to watch them eat that food you cooked and not eat it with them?

That's my date too!!! Yipee, I have a surgery buddy! Congratulations! I think it is good that we are having surgery before the holidays. We won't gain any holiday weight...in fact, we'll be losing weight. I don't cook so that works out. And when I had the lap band in I wasn't hungry so the holidays didn't bother me (about not eating when everyone else is).

Congrats on your date too! I would love to be a surgery buddy! You are so correct. This will be the first Xmas in my adult life that I didn't gain weight!!!

I am looking forward to the holidays this year where I know for the first time my focus will not be so much on food and eating!! As for cooking I still love doing this, but with eating so little I do not have the opportunity to cook as much. The holidays I am looking forward to cooking for others to enjoy...and I can sneak in healthy alternatives that no one will notice!

Congrats on your date. I am doing Thanksgiving for my family this year and I love to cook, so it will be fine. I will still eat but not like I have done in the past. Ed, I hadn't heard that story about your Thanksgiving. That is torture. I have said it before, i will say it again. The liquid diet prior to surgery was the worst part of the whole thing for me.
