Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
On my program it was 4 months before we could eat "all foods as tolerated." I'm almost 3 years out and I still take a lot of my own food when I travel. I take a small blender for my protein drinks. I also pack protein powder, protein bars, my own breakfast (I can't eat eggs anymore), and nuts.

I also say if you have an opportunity to go then take it and enjoy. It would be wise to read up on where yuo'll be and plan your days and meals. Stay hydrated and only drink bottled water.
Some personal notes for you.....most public toilets do not have seats, so you will need to learn to hover and strengthen your legs to be able to do that. if your still weak from surgery that may be a challenge for you. Also bathtubs are rare, and the showers in the hotel rooms are teeny tiny.
Have great time and enjoy yourself.
