Hi everyone
If I didn't know better I would truly think that God has jokes but because I know that I can't survive tomorrow without Him, I choose to keep laughing than give into the temptation to revert back to my old ways when stress has me ready to flip out.
Updates: I am still working my nutritional plan and doing well with this journey to God be the glory, however it is not without being tested. As you know my sons wife disappeared with his baby boy but she has now returned home and they are working through it. In lieu of the 4 deaths that took place the end of June, that little tidbit jolted my spirit and caused both mys son and I incredible anxiety, As God would have it we survived that now his ex-wife and daughter of his mother has decided that unless I can fly into Dallas bring my granddaughter back with me and then fly her home, I can't have her for the summer. I tried to explain that with the cost of maintaining everything I need right now nutritionally, 4 deaths, my husbands impending surgery August 21st etc., etc., I can not afford to get her here alone and asked that she pay her daughters flight and i would take care of my round trip fare to bring her home, otherwise I don't see the visit happening this summer. Well after she informed me that she takes care of her daughter without me helping her with half of anything, i was called a low life piece of shit when I said the trip would have to be cancelled and told to forget I had a granddaughter cause I would never see her again - insert daggers and twist because i felt like i'd been stabbed in my heart. I know this has nothing to do with wls, but i am mortified. I do for my family without thinking always the one to lend a hand and pick people up when they fall, so why is it the one time I expect people to understand my plight do I have to go through all of this?
I know who I am as a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, friend etc., and there is nothing I would not do for those I love, I've just come to the conclusion that as long as you sacrifice your well being for everyone you are the "best of the best", but when that times come where you really can't people will show you exactly who they are. I know my grandchild is hurt and disappointed that she won't be coming. She's 8 years old and a very intelligent little girl who I adore and will miss dearly, but nana just can't. Heartbroken

I hate it when family stab you so hard it hurts, they really don't understand what impact they inflict in that moment. My heart goes out for you and I hope you can reestablish a relationship with your granddaughter soon. :(
My son had a messy situation when his ex and him divorced about 5 years ago... Its a long story, but she kept their 3 kids from us (my son too) for 3 months! (and we all lived in the same city!) Till the judge told her to knock it off or go to jail... It was a heart wrenching time! I feel your pain!
