Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I would wait until you feel like you want to try putting something in, everyone is so different. In the beginning I had streaks of no-vomit...4 or 5 days was the best i did until 6 monthes.
Now down 220 pounds and NO vomit streak is back!
Don't get discouraged!
Introduce only one new food a day.
Take a bite, then put your spoon down and wait 5-10 minutes to see how your pouch is responding. If all seems okay, take another bite. Use a coffee cup warmer to keep your food warm.
Take small bites, chew very, very well. Eat slowly.
At the first sign of fullness, STOP!
You'll get "soft cues": a sign, a burp, a gurgle, hiccups...That means the pouch is full and your should stop eating..... :)
I hope you feel better!
I do pray that things settle down for you and your able to progress. There are many others out their in your shoes, and i pray for them all.
I could eat scrambled eggs but I couldn't eat an omelet. And forget about hard boiled eggs!!
I could eat ground chicken, but forget about eating chicken any other way!
Some fish I could eat, others I would get sick after 2 bites.
It really does go with the territory, unfortunately. My NUT and surgeon both told me that it's trial and error until you can figure how to read your body.
After 6 months, there is very little that I can't eat. I haven't vomited in about a month! So although its discouraging, there IS light at the end of the tunnel!
