Lip balm (you ARE going to need this)
Pillow (many recommend for ride home)
Cell phone
Close friend/companion/spouse
Timer (for timing walks/sips of water)
Ditto Jerry's list!
Hugs,
Peggy
I second everything Jerry said you'll need. I also brought a robe to cover the back of my oh so lovely hospital gown, and I really liked having my own slippers. At home you might want some broth, jello, and Carnation Instant Breakfast in addition to what you have. SF fudgecicles were good too.
You'll be fine to go back to work in 3 weeks. I'm not sure what the weight loss will be at that point, as I'm only 2 weeks out now, but as of Monday I'd lost 16 lbs. since surgery.
I wish you the best of luck, and I'll be sending positive vibes your way! I was really nervous too, but this is the exciting start of a whole new life!
Hugs to you,
Megan
Slip-on shoes to wear home. A camera for those last "before" pictures and the first "after" pictures.
Good luck!

Smile and and take a deep breath as this is almost over. Where else could you get all these loving professionals to have your back so to speak? You'll do just fine!

When I went to the hospital it was just like the delivery stories we forgot the suitecase.
So my husband got me a toothbrush, hairbrush and the hospital provided everything else.
My hospital only does gbs on the floor I was on and they were ready. My room had real wood floors and all the extras I was so lucky no tubes or catheter (sp) when I woke up. I was only there over night or about 23 hours and back to work in less than a week. I was one of the lucky ones no problems.
It is like having a baby you will plan, worry and overbuy stuff you may never use.
Life is good and getting better and better.
We are all here to support you.
All the best wishes.

I also like those Wisps that you can brush your teeth with anywhere. In case you don't feel like getting up and going into the bathroom, good for fresh breath and wetting your whistle.
Good luck.
Oh yes, I've heard those wisps are WONDERFUL!
thank you, thank you, thank you!
