Welcome Fathima! Wow, what a journey you have had. It seems that restrictions come up all too frequently. You said you can't be dilated again. Does that mean the doctor says you can't or that you don't want to be? I've heard that some people have had to have dilation more than once. Some people do have scar tissue issues more than others. I don't know if you smoke or not but that does mess with the body's healing ability. Gentle scar tissue work with a good bodyworker really helps during healing and is good for long term maintanance as needed as well. It helps to smooth out the scar tissues. Do you use a baby spoon? Have you tried taking one tiny bite at a time and putting your utensil down while you chew to mush, and then waiting for a bit in between bites to see how your stomach handles the food? Yes, and everything always needs to be chewed to mush, even years out. It is really important to be fully present when we eat, with each bite we take, and listening to our body/pouch throughout our meal. Especially for those of us who have had a habit of eating too fast. We just can't do that anymore. It definitely forces us to be conscious about eating. Don't be surprised if people don't respond instantly because this website has had an "upgrade" and total reworking of format. Thank you so much for replying. Thank you for your suggestions. My doctor stated I can't be dilated anymore. I am trying to avoid major Surgury. Tuesday I will have an answer. I do not smoke. I definite have to learn how to eat slower and chew. I don't do that much. I should try to see how I do. I really appreciate your suggestions. I will keep you posted.

Hum, so if you have to have another surgery, what would they do? Visceral manipulation (VM) and scar tissue release work wonders. At least for me it has for all my surgeries. Here is a link to find a practitioner for VM. Just nter your zip code and look for practitioners with lots of classes including ones that start with CST (CranioSacral Therapy) and VM. I would look for an LMT (licensed massage therapist). If you like, message me with your zip code and I could scan for therapists that might be able to help. I would recommend calling several and talking with them to see who you connect with. This is very gentle melding work. Just my recommendation for what has helped me.

Thank you for your reply. The surgeon wants to undo the bypass and cut the area where the scar tissue is and do the bypass reconnection new. Oh great my Zip code is 11501. What kind of complications did you have? I appreciate all help. I can't sleep at night thinking what to do. Thankfully, I havent had any complications. I did have a raw nasty red, white, and yellow mouth the week afterwards and had to get some yellow swish and swallow medicine though. The anesthesiologist said when I called him that he thought it was a reaction to one of the surgery meds. I didn't consider that a complication though. I'm really diligent about keeping on top of my blood tests for nutrients and med absorption. I started having what I called "old lady arms" last year where I got thin skin that ripped, tore, and bruised at the slightest touch. After doing my own research I discovered that vitamin K deficiency was the problem. I asked my doctor to test me and it was confirmed. He thought I was crazy and got other platelet and such tests as well which were good. I'd like to think he learned something about nutrition because of it. I have told several people about K when I see arms like that. I seem stable with a double dose. I like sublinguals and liquids for vitamins because they absorb better, at least for me.

Hi, hun!! Welcome! I'm so sorry you've had so many challenges. I agree with Lcat that mindfully, slowly eating is really important. I'm over 6 years out, and I still don't swallow anything that I haven't chewed to a liquid (yes, this means sometimes spitting stuff out). I used liquid vitamins for awhile after my surgery. They should have them at your local Vitamin Shoppe. You can dissolve calcium in water. It isn't bad. According to my surgeon, you don't have to drink the "gunk" at the bottom of the class.

I understand your fears about having another surgery... but it doesn't sound like you have much of a choice if your body has "over-healed" where it connects to your pouch and they can't dilate it again. Has your surgeon been able to explain why your body won't react to the new surgery the same way ("overheating")? Is there something he can do during the surgery to help get a different result?

I take Intra Max liquid vitamins which has a WHOLE lot more than just vitamins. I take Superior Source sublinguals for D,K, B12, and Biotin. I don't need biotin any more though since I am 6 years out. Bariatric Advantage has yummy Calcium chews in several flavors for your stage. I also add Renew Life Clear Fiber to my protein shake every morning to keep my intestines functioning and regular. It will be critical to get your blood tested regularly throughout the years to make sure all your nutrient levels are good. You will want to get your medications blood tested periodically as well to make sure you are absorbing them.

I am 5 months post op. Have issues with my stomach each and every time I eat meat. Small bits, chewing alot etc. it goes down well but 15 min later I have the "foamies" and belch, burp for the next 4 hours. Its so painful. I do not take the calcium pills as I have read so much about heart problems with this. I feel for you.

No gummy vitamins. Get chewables, liquid, or go in for shots.

Excellent surgeon or not, get a second opinion from another excellent surgeon. I am a nurse & RnYGB pt. I've seen enough to know.

Thank you. I definitely will take your advice. Today I was told that they had to up my TPN from 1600 units to 2000 liters ( meant liters not unit). I been on TPN since July 1st 2016 and I am worried that I may get side effect of there are any from being on TPN for long. Do you know if TPN causes side effects? I am so overwhelm and starting to lose hope about life in general.
