Having gall bladder out dec 31. I asked them to get it done before the 1st so I wouldn't have to do another copay. Am surprised they got me in!

I love not having a gallbladderexcept for 1 problem (which I found a way to solve)...

When I had mine out I did great for a couple weeks then started erummm..having to spend a lot of time in the bathroom. I did some research and found out I was having bile salt dumping. My doctor said it would get better in time but I couldn't keep living like that.so I did some more research and found out calcium carbonate slowed the process. So, I started eating 1-2 Tums with each meal and within a couple days things got back to normal. Now I take a Tums whenever I eat food I'm not accustomed to eating.

Good luck Sarge! I found gallbladder surgery a breeze compared to the bypass but I also know people who were just the opposite. Hope yours is a smooth recovery.

Oh wow, that IS quick. But I'm glad you're getting it done. I felt much better after mine was out. I don't even remember recovery so it must have been a piece of cake.

Good luck Sarge, you'll be much happier without that thing. I know I was glad to get rid of mine. JJ thats good information, I had mine out before Bypass and still have the occasional issue with new foods. I'll be keeping some Tums in my purse from now on.

Good luck Sarge! I had mine out years ago and haven't noticed a big difference. Laproscopic surgery is a breeze! Happy New Year to you =)
