I'm pretty disappointed at the moment. I was to be submitted to insurance on December 21st and was told I'd have my approval in about 15 days. I waited until today and decided to give the Surgeon's office a call to get an updated.
I was on hold for 15 minutes before being transfered to the person who handles this sort of stuff. She told me she had checked my status yesterday and it was still pending but that's normal because it can take up to 30 days. That was disapointing enough since she had originally told me 15, but it made sense so I was OK with that.
After I got off the phone with her, I decided to call the insurance company directly just to make sure they had received all the documentation they needed -if I was going to have to wait 2x as long as I expected, I didn't want any more hold ups. They told me that they had everything needed to make a decision but it takes up to 15 days to make one and they just got all my info submitted to them yesterday.
So, it taking up to 30 days was not the truth, the truth is that it does in fact only take 15, but the office was 15 days late submitting.
I'm really bummed right now. :-/
