So I am doing well -- ahead of schedule!!
I started at 347, my NUT wants me at 150 so I was 197 pounds overweight. As of right now (just shy of my one year anniversary on 9/25) I have lost a total of 145 pounds which is 73.6% of my excess weight. :)
What I have seen before is that you could reasonably expect to lose half the excess weight in the first 6 months, half of the remainder in the next six months, and then the remainder in the last year. I'm pretty much on target for that as well.
But my personal goal is actually not where the charts put me. I'm 5'10-1/2 and the doc calculated my excess weight in comparison to 149 pounds. I can't imagine being that skinny. I'll be satisfied (thrilled really--I'm satisfied already) to get to 174. I think that would be a good place based on my frame. I was shooting for 175 but I think that still keeps me in the overweight category for BMI, so I've revised that down to 174 so I can be normal. ;-)
Thanks for sharing!
Almost three months out (8 days shy) I have lost 42% of my excess body weight since February 19, 2013.
If I count what I weighed a year ago, I have lost 53% of my body weight!
When I look at it in that perspective, I'm in Awe!!! Unbelievable!
Congrats to everyone on this site for making the committment to lose the weight and be healthy again. (That includes me too...LOL)
Sounds good to me!
Someone shared this link with me. Its a calculator of sorts that gives an out line of how the #'s MIGHT come off.... But I personally don't like it as I think it sets too high of expectations! Take a look at own risk! LOL! It does give a warning on how everyones wt loss might be very different!
