Push up all the way! I discovered Victoria's Body by Victoria push up which is awesome and pretty too!

Oh Diva! This made me laugh. "My girls" are pathetic at this point in life! I might as well ditch the bra and tuck them into my waistband! In my younger days the girls used to keep me afloat in deep water. They were great for "flashing" when I'd go sailing with my friends. Now if I want to "flash" someone...Rather than lift up my shirt, I have to pull down my pants!

Joannannotti, if I want to flash someone these days, I have to use my camera. :-/

Lcat, thanks for the vote for the push-up bras. I'm going shopping for those as soon as I can, though Victoria's Secret may have to wait a while longer. I won't be able to wear their size range for another forty pounds. I'm getting there, though!

Once you get to a 38 you will fit!

Hey there PianoDiva I must admit this ticketed me. Believe it or not Victoria's Secret carry's a 38B so you may be in there sooner than you think. They don't have as many options in that size but my favorite bra they have in that size is the "Very Sexy Pushup" it's my go to. Hope you love them and good luck with the girls.

I normally lurk this and a couple other boards but wanted to reply to your search.

First though, congratulations on your incredible success so far! In fact, congratulations to everyone here! Even though I didn't take the Gastric Surgery route, I've lost a good bit of weight doing my own thing and I know there are many routes to the top of the mountain. None of them is "easy" and we ALL have had to work hard and make a lot of changes.

So....bras!! I'd like to recommend the Soma stores. They're a division of Chico's and can be found in quite a few malls.

When I first started I was a 44DDD. I wore those as long as I could, and dug out a few smaller ones stashed in the back of the drawer. When I reached the point that I absolutely needed a new bra, I really had no idea WHAT size I would wear. I decided it was time for a real fitting by someone who knew what they were doing.

I expected to be a 40D or so. I left the store in a 38DDD that I LOVE.

They carry up to 42 I think. Some of the bras can be a little pricey though. Oddly enough, I ended up loving one of the less expensive styles.

It's really worth the time for a fitting. Even though I found a size that worked, not all the styles in that size fit as well. They'll parade styles and sizes into the dressing room for you until you find what works for you. It really is a "full service" experience.

And re: the pushup thing....you may find you really don't need it afterall. Once I found a bra that fit really well, the girls ended up looking pretty darn decent afterall ;-)

what makes you think this is just a womans issue. I am sure i will have saggy manboobs after my journey is through, what will my options be, can't see myself going into Bra's and things (aussie lingerie store) and trying on some bra's. maybe go into Kmart and pretend I am shopping for my wife lol

Unfortunately I had to laugh till I had tears running down my face!!! Boy do I identify. Most of the time when I am home I just don't wear a bra, but when I do my biggest problem is the flab on the sides. It wants to jump out all the time and it's uncomfortable and looks really bad. I still have 70 more pounds to loose and the going has been tough. I am a stress eater and I am dealing with a LOT of stress. My husband has cancer, and my mom is in end stage COPD. Plus it looks like I will have to have my right hip replaced sooner than later. Trying water therapy for now, because I already have to much going on to go through my 5th joint replacement.
Any suggestions that won't cost the whole cow for a bra that harnesses in the sides would be appreciated.

Oh Peg...so sorry you are going through such a stressful time in your life. Dealing with stress is NEVER easy and it can throw us for a loop. Hoping things will get better for you soon. I completely "get" the side flab thing and the discomfort of wearing a bra.
Peg and Diva... I have one beautiful (expensive) bra from Soma that I wear when I'm dressed up. I have no breast tissue left so a push up only pushes up the wrinkles in my empty ta-tas! The Soma bra is one of those that has soft contours and puts a shape back into my ship. It's not padded, but it does have a soft slightly foam material. On my "dress like a slob days at home, when I'm doing housework, gardening or exercising, I wear a sports bra with wide side panels and a wide back. It's not the most figure flattering, but it holds the girls (what's left of them...hah) nicely in place so I don't flop around. Hope this helps

Of all of the loose skin, the side flap bothers me the most. Even soma doesn't cover that

I can so relate to your post. I have the same problem you have. There isn't must "meat" to them. I am 63 and after taking off 150 pounds they are pretty sad looking. I too will be looking into new bras again. Already down a couple sizes. I love the bras I wear but I am now in the smallest size of this brand from Lane Bryant. I joked with my hair stylist I need to get some suspenders and attach to my underwear and nipples to keep them from drooping. I am happy that this is the only problem I am facing at this time. I went clothes shopping for shorts, capris and blouses. It was exciting to have to go to the regular size department. I went from a 30-32 blouse and 26-28 bottoms to an x-large top and bottom. I was thrilled. I'll be bra shopping again soon. :}

I am loving all the comments. I had breast cancer and lost both of mine. I was in for my 3 month check-up , talked to the nurse about a tummy tuck after I am all done, she said no I needed boobs again. We are now looking at breast reconstruction. We will put that extra apron to some good use. I will be seeking help from you all. Keep keeping on. Diva and girls, keep me laughing.

I can totally relate, last month my husband said, "you should really wear a bra", I lifted up my shirt to show him I had a bra on, lol. I've since changed to smaller bras and one that has a "lift to them", I can soooo related to the tucking them in my pants part.
